In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Great product
I bought this for my father. He felt very comfortable while walking. Plus, the ASICS shoes are light weighted. My father likes it a lot.
Best shoe on the market
This shoe make makes a comfortable shoe. I have diabetes and it makes the perfect diabetic shoe. I've bought shoes from them in the past and have lasted for about 2 years before buying a new pair. ASICS has the best shoe in my opinion for the best cost.
Full size too small, VERY breathy fabric
I like the shoes, but they were a full size too small so I returned them. Found them at Ross for 5 bucks less! Also note that the fabric is the most open weave of any shoe I've ever owned. In cooler weather, my feet get really cold. If you're a "hotfoot" though, you'll love 'em. The shoes are extremely lightweight. Finally, the sole at the back of the shoe is pretty narrow. Feels like I could roll an ankle more easily than in other shoes.
